A genetic internal clock is ticking in all of us 24/7 and largely determines the timing of all bodily processes, such as sleep, metabolism and the ability to perform and concentrate.
Since the respective expression of chronotypes is genetically determined, it often collides with social requirements. This has health consequences, but also leads to poorer performance, which in turn has economic consequences.
Chronobiology is the science that deals with it. And this is probably the first seminar in Andalusia that deals with this topic. More .
My name is Michael Wieden, I am an german author, speaker and management consultant for chronobiology in human resources management. As a business economist I have been working on chronobiology since 2002 because I am fascinated by the potential of respecting this fundamental function of our body’s genetically determined, natural sleep-wake rhythm.
In Germany I initiated chronobiology pilot projects that are unique worldwide and implemented them together with scientists.
Now I would like to share my knowledge here in Andalusia to bring you closer to your biological sleep-wake rhythm, i.e. your chronotype. More …

I chosed this hostel because it brings people together who break new ground and are ready to rediscover themselves. This is exactly the mindset I want to achieve with my seminars. More …
A genetic internal clock is ticking in all of us. This largely determines the timing of all bodily processes, such as sleep, metabolism and the ability to perform and concentrate.
The important thing here is that everyone is genetically different. Science distinguishes between different chronotypes such as owls, pigeons and larks. In our projects there was a difference of 13.5 hours between the earliest lark and the latest owl. The science behind that is called Chronobiology.
Very few people know about these recent scientific discoveries. Sleep, performance and concentration problems are often related to wrong sleeping times and too little sleep.
I myself have been dealing with chronobiology in HR management for 20 years and have already carried out a number of pilot projects in Germany by adapting working hours to chronotypes.
I would now like to pass on my findings in my first seminar here in Estepona/Spain.
The seminar is divided into two blocks.
Just follow the timeline below for more information
My lecture Chronobiology - The power of rhythms contains concentrated information on chronobiology, chronotypes, sleep and our biological rhythms. After the lecture you have a maximum of 15 -30 minutes for general questions. We can discuss specific questions that concern your individual situation in the workshop.
You can take the chance to get some food and discuss questions. 🙂
In this workshop we will develop a strategy on how to get to know your own rhythm better and, above all, how to integrate it into everyday life. We will also discuss about tools you can use to improve your mental morning fitness after "alarm clock". Of course, we also go into individual situations with you. These can be problems with working times, but also different chronotypes between partners or the school situation of your children. It's not about making the impossible possible, but about finding out what's feasible and how to make improvements.
Since 2002 I have been dealing with chronobiology in HR management. I have already carried out a number of pilot projects in Germany by adapting working hours to chronotypes like ChronoCity (2012 to 2016), Wake up without alarm clock (2018/2019), COPEP – Chronotype-optimized workforce planning (2019-2021) and ChronoClinic, chronobiology in hospitals (2021-2022).
I was on television and in the media about this, and I also give lectures for companies and for a German health insurance company.
